Advisor Information

There are a number of ways to become an advisor to a student organization. First, each fall the Center for Student Involvement sends out an interest sheet to faculty and staff in regards to possibly serving as an advisor. You can fill out this sheet and indicate your preference for type of organization you would like to advise. Second, you can stop by the Center for Student Involvement in the lower level of the Student Union and ask about possible open positions. Feel free to contact the Center for Student Involvement at 785-4222. If there is an organization that is in need of an advisor and you are interested, the Center for Student Involvement will put you in touch with that organization. The student organization is the group that will select its advisor, not the Center for Student Involvement. You can meet with the group, learn more about it and then the students and you can decide on whether or not you will serve as advisor. After the organization and you decide to make you advisor, the organization needs to notify the Center for Student Involvement with this information.
