All Truman students are assigned an academic advisor. Entering freshmen
work with a professional academic advisor within the Residential College
Program; for on-campus students these advisors are found within the
students¹ own residential colleges. The Residential College Program
advisors also advise all undeclared students and work closely with
faculty in the disciplines.
Upperclassmen with declared majors are customarily assigned faculty
advisors in their major field of interest. Your advisor can often
provide you with a sense of direction in planning your academic career,
so be sure to maintain communication with your advisor on a regular
basis.
Remember that it is your responsibility to schedule appointments, be
prepared for those appointments, be informed about degree requirements,
and to make the final decisions concerning your education. Consult the
