Who Lives on Campus
All first-year students (24 credits and less) are required to live in a residence hall. This does not include students over 21 years of age, married students, transfer students, or students commuting from home and living with immediate family. Immediate family is defined as mother, father, or grandparent. All students (more than 24 credits) must carry a minimum of 12 credits per semester to live on campus unless prior approval has been received from the Director of Residential Living. Advanced placement credit is not counted toward the 24 credit or less requirement. 

 

General Information

Residence Halls
The residence halls range in size from 68 to almost 700 residents. Within that range are exciting opportunities for growth--personal, social, educational, physical, and emotional. The residence halls are under the direction of the Residence Life Office.

Blanton/Nason complex‹Blanton houses 142 women on three floors and adjoins Nason by a breezeway. Nason houses an additional 116 women. Blanton is a residential complex with residents residing in suites. Nason's complex consists of all multiple rooms (3-4 students per room) with private bathrooms.  

Brewer Hall ‹ Brewer Hall is home to the social sororities on campus. lt houses approximately 125 upperclass women who belong to different sororities.

Centennial Hall ‹ Centennial Hall, the largest hall on campus, houses almost 700 women and men on its five floors. Centennial is located directly across from the Student Union.

Dobson Hall ‹ Dobson Hall houses 438 men and women and is located directly east of Violette Hall.

E.C. Grim International Hall ‹ E.C. Grim houses approximately 68 men and women in a coed suite-style environment, and offers an intimate living environment in a historic residence. Located near Pershing Building and Violette Hall.

Missouri Hall ‹ Located just off the main quadrangle, Missouri Hall houses 600 men and women in a coed environment by wing (20 students per wing).

Ryle Hall ‹ Ryle is located near Stokes Stadium and Violette Hall. Approximately 600 men and women make Ryle their home each year.


Apartment Living
The University has three campus apartment complexes:

Fair Apartments‹Fair Apartments, next to Ryle, house 60 men and women.

Campbell Apartments‹Campbell Apartments, near Stokes Stadium and the tennis courts, provide housing for up to 140 married students, graduate, and undergraduate men and women.

Randolph Apartments‹Randolph apartments, near Dobson Hall, house approximately 30 students in three and four person apartments.

Additional information on the following topics is available in the Residential Living Handbook which is produced and distributed by the Residential Living Office, Kirk Building 114, Phone 785-4227, and at reslife.truman.edu. The Residential Living Handbook is produced every summer and mailed to all freshmen in the summer.
