ATM Service
Instant Cash Machines through the Cirrus/Bankmate system are located
on the lower level of the Student Union, the first floor of McClain Hall
and the Residential Halls.
Career Center
The
Career Center provides assistant
to students throughout their years at Truman with self-assessment,
career exploration, internship and job search, and graduate school.
Services include an extensive career library, individual appointments,
workshops on a variety of career-related topics, resume, cover letter,
and graduate school statement assistance, and videotaped mock
interviews. The Career Center is located in the McKinney Center. Phone

Check Cashing
Personal checks or checks written to a student by parents can be
cashed for up to $75 at the Cashier¹s Window on the main level of
McClain Hall. Window hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Computer Help Desk
The
Information Technology Services
Help Desk (McClain Hall 112, 785-4544) provides basic computer services
for students, including password resets, assistance with configuration
of personal computers for the residence hall networks, virus scanning of
disks, basic help with email and web page construction, basic help with
software available in the Academic Computer Labs. The Help Desk assists
with hardware or software problems on personal computers when these
problems affect connecting to the University's network. The Help Desk

Computer Labs
IT Services
maintains several labs on campus. The labs are designed to give students
a functional working environment, and to offer them applications,
services, and connectivity otherwise unavailable. The locations of open
labs on campus are Violette Hall 2000, and Pickler Memorial Library 308
and 312. Each residence hall has a computer lab that is open 24
hours a day for student use. All computer labs have IBM or IBM
compatible computers with printing capability to a laserjet printer, and
access to the campus network and internet. Students have the
ability to choose to print on a color laserjet printer. A fax
machine is available for student use in the PL308 lab. A list of

Carpenter Language Learning Center
The Language Learning Center is equipped with a thirty station audio
and video center as well as a 24 station multi-media computer room.
Foreign language broadcasting, both radio and TV, as well as previously
recorded texts and films are available. Peer teaching in small groups is
provided to students enrolled in beginning and intermediate foreign
language and ESL courses. The Language
Learning Center is located in McClain Hall rooms 302, 304, and 305.
Emergency Loans
The University maintains a loan fund from donations made by various
individuals and agencies. It is the policy of the committee responsible
for this fund to make small loans available to students on a short-term
basis at a reasonably low rate of interest. To be eligible, an applicant
must be enrolled full-time, have a cumulative 2.2 GPA, and meet criteria
set up by the committee. Applicants are expected to repay the loans
within a short time. The application

FAX Machines
FAX machines are available for student use in the
Pickler Memorial Library 308 computer lab and in the Campus Bookstore.
ID Cards
The ID Card serves as a multipurpose identification card, recreation
center pass, library card, meal card (when a meal plan has been
purchased), and a laundry debit card (when cash value is added to the
card). The ID Card is to be used for the duration of a student's
experience at the University and should be carried at all times while on
campus property. However, the card should not be carried in pants pocket
by itself; it should be protected from damage as any other important
identification or credit card. The ID Card may only be used by that
student and is non-transferable. The
ID Card Office is located in Kirk Building 112. The hours of
operation are: Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. A $20 replacement fee is
charged for lost/stolen cards. The ID Card is University property and
any forgery, alteration, or misuse may result in disciplinary or
monetary sanctions. A lost or stolen card should be reported to the ID
Office, Kirk Building 112, 785-4123 during office hours or the
Department of Public Safety, 785-4176 after office hours.
Legal Aid
For legal assistance contact the Missouri Bar Lawyer Referral Service
at 1-800-392-8777. Missouri also utilizes a small claims court system.

Division Office located in the basement of the Adair County Courthouse.

Lockers
Lockers are available for rent on the lower level of the Student
Union. Fees are $6 per academic year and $3 for summer rental. Lockers
can be rented in the Campus Activities and Organization Center.
Lost and Found
The University¹s central Lost and Found Department is housed at the
University Police Department. Phone 785-4176.
Mail Service
For information regarding mail service to the residence halls consult
the Residence Life Handbook or call your hall desk.
Mathematics
Laboratory
The Division of Mathematics and Computer Science offers Mathematics
Laboratory as a service to prepare students who need review or
additional background before enrolling in College Algebra. Math Lab
denotes tuition-free, non-credit courses in either beginning or
intermediate algebra. Students can register for these labs as they would
for any other course. Grades are recorded in the Division of Mathematics
and Computer Sciences only. Participation in Math Lab does not appear on
a student¹s transcript. Questions can be directed to the Math Lab

Math Tutoring
The Division of Mathematics and Computer Science offers tutoring every
semester in beginning courses. These include MT 156 College Algebra, MT
157 Plane Trigonometry, MT 186 Elementary Functions, MT 192 Essentials
of Calculus, MT 198, 263, and 264 Calculus I, II, III, Stat 190
Beginning Statistics, and computer languages. This is a free service for
students to provide assistance in solving problems, as well as answer
questions on basic understanding. The sessions are usually held in the
evenings, Sunday through Thursday, in the mathematics and computer
science classrooms with the exact times and locations announced and

Off-Campus
Housing/Landlord List
The Index, in conjunction
with
Student Senate, compiles the
Landlord List every spring. The Landlord List is a classified listing of
available rental properties in Kirksville and is published in the
student newspaper once in late March and updated in April. The listing
not only gives landlords a way to advertise their rental properties, but
it also gives students an easily accessible reference when looking for
off-campus housing. For more information contact the Index Office or see

Parking
Services
The University Police Department is responsible for enforcing the
University parking and traffic regulations. Their goal is to provide
equal and fair enforcement of all vehicle rules and regulations. These
regulations are designed to provide maximum use for the allotted parking
and to insure that everyone - - student, faculty, or staff has an equal

Recycling
Truman has developed a
successful recycling program, operated jointly by student workers
and physical plant staff. Designated recycling areas are located in each
of the residential halls and academic buildings. Items are picked up
from each of these areas on a weekly basis. Recyclable material includes
paper, glass, plastic, aluminum, and cardboard. Any questions or
problems can be directed to the Physical Plant office in Kirk Building.

Preparation
The University Career Center
offers individualized assistance to students in the preparation of
resumes. For help with your resume or for more information about the

Resource Libraries
Public Safety
A resource library is maintained in the University Police Department with information on topics such as drugs and alcohol, sexual assault, and driving while intoxicated. The resource library may be used by stopping by the University Police Department. Phone 785-4176.Leadership Development
A Leadership Resource Library is located in the Campus Activities and Organization Center in the Student Union. The library includes books, videos, simulation games and resource indexes on a variety of leadership topics. Phone 785-4222.
Sodexho
Marriott Services
Sodexho Marriott Services
provides the university's dining services. The meal specifications are
designed with variety and balanced nutrition in mind. Two meal plan
options are available: 20 meals per week or 15 meals per week. All
students living in the residence halls are required to participate in
one of these meal plans. A computerized I.D. card is issued and must be
presented at each meal in order to eat. (Any student using another
person's I.D. card for entry to the food service area will be subject to
disciplinary action.) Students participating in one of the meal plans
are eligible to use the transferability option at the Mainstreet Market
located in the Student Union. Students may choose from the menu and
receive a designated credit for each meal. Any purchases over this
designated credit amount must be paid in cash. The transfer option is
available Monday thru Friday for breakfast, lunch and dinner and only
during specified times. For additional information, contact the food

Student Insurance
Health insurance is available to students and dependents through the
Business Office. It is recommended that if you are not covered by a
health insurance policy, that you take advantage of this offer. It is
also advisable to have in your possession an insurance card or photocopy
of an insurance card as proof of coverage. For more information contact

Student Parking
and Vehicle Registration
Students who wish to park vehicles in University parking lots are
required to obtain and properly display a valid permit. Holders of
permits can park only in those lots where the designation on the parking
lot sign corresponds with the type of permit issued to them. Vehicle
registration can be completed at the Cashier¹s Window on the main level
of McClain Hall. For questions regarding vehicle rules and regulations

Transportation
The Blue Key Ride Board, which is located on the west end of the main
floor of the Student Union, provides an excellent option for pairing
students needing rides with students looking for assistance with gas and
other car expenses. Check the board for specific information.
University Farm
Truman's
University Farm (formerly known as the Science Outdoor Instructional
Laboratory - SOIL) serves as a teaching/ research facility as well as in
a service capacity. The Farm is used by the Agricultural Science,
Biology, and other disciplines as a laboratory for teaching and research
in the plant, animal, and environmental sciences. Herds of cattle and
horses are maintained at the Farm for teaching, research, and
recreational purposes. Agricultural workshops and clinics, Truman
Freshman Week activities and educational field trips for area school
children also occur at the Farm. Garden plots are available to faculty,
staff, and students. The University Farm is located at the intersection
of La Harpe and Boundary Streets, approximately one mile west of the
University campus. Each year the Farm employs 25-30 students, many of
