Dean of Student Affairs
The Dean of Student Affairs is responsible for the staffing, planning, leadership, and program coordination for the many departments and service areas included in Student Affairs. Student Affairs supports the liberal arts and sciences mission of the University by fostering a living/learning environment that appreciates diversity, that is both challenging and supportive, and that promotes the personal, social, and intellectual development of students through the integration of the curriculum and co-curriculum. Student Affairs programs and service areas include: Athletics, Campus Activities and Organization Center, Greek Life, Intramural Sports, International Student Office, Citizenship and Community Standards, Multicultural Affairs, Residence Life, SERVE Center, Services for Individuals with Disabilities, Student Health Service, Student Recreation Center, Student Union, University Counseling Services, and Women's Resource Center. The Dean of Student Affairs office has primary responsibility for student conduct and responds to all reports of misconduct and violations of the Student Conduct Code. Athletics
The Athletic Department offers students the opportunity to participate on twenty-one different intercollegiate athletic teams (11 men's, 10 women's). Truman is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and the NCAA (Division II). The Athletics Office is located in Pershing Building 213. Phone 785-4235.

Center for Student Involvement
The Center for Student Involvement is primarily responsible for campus programming, student organization development and services, and leadership development and recognition programs at Truman. Information concerning these areas can be obtained by stopping at the Center for Student Involvement located on the lower level of the Student Union. Phone 785-4222.

Campus Recreation
Campus Recreation, located in the Student Recreation Center, provides programs and services that encourage the development of healthy habits and lifestyles by the university community. Recreational sports, and fitness activities are coordinated by the Intramural Recreational Sports Program, and the Fitness/Wellness Program, respectively. Most activity areas in the student Recreation Center are regularly available for drop-in use. These areas include weight room, cardio exercise areas, jogging track, aerobics/dance studio, and two gyms. Citizenship and Community Standards

The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards (OCCS) is charged with the administration of the Student Conduct Code, that creates an expectation of behavior that the University views as acceptable and appropriate.  The University recognizes the significance of students’ rights.  Those rights include freedom of expression, autonomy, procedural protection, and the respect for personal integrity of all members of the community and their property.  By ensuring those individual rights, the University fosters an environment conducive to students’ success and well-being.  By doing so, students respect the dignity, rights, and property of the University community. 

The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards strives to resolve allegations of misconduct under the Student Conduct Code in a manner consistent with its core values of fairness, honesty, and integrity.  The Office acknowledges the importance of balancing the interests of the individual student or student organization and the community at large, as well as protecting the integrity of the institution and its values.  To that end, the Office of Citizenship and Community Standards seeks to enhance the educational mission of the University by promoting a caring, just, and responsible community.  To foster the development of future leaders and responsible citizens, Citizenship and Community Standards promises to support the academic community by promoting and investing in students’ holistic learning, ethical growth, and character development.

Greek Life
The Director of Greek Affairs oversees the Greek Life Program and provides supervision for the following staff within Greek Life: Interfraternity Council Advisor (IFC), Panhellenic Advisor, National Pan-Hellenic Council Advisor (NPHC), and three Student Assistant Greek Directors, who are students at Truman State University. Intramural Recreational Sports

Multicultural Affairs Center
The Multicultural Affairs Center provides academic, social, and cultural support to students of color. Academic programs provided by Multicultural Affairs include: The Scholastic Enhancement Experience/ Success Program, Directions ‹ a freshman orientation program, and the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. The Multicultural Affairs Center sponsors events and activities to promote a more pluralistic campus environment. This is accomplished through programs and events such as Chinese Magic Revue, Black History Month Activities and Hispanic Heritage Month Activities. The Center also provides academic support through a tutorial program and a peer mentoring program for students on campus. The overall goal is to promote understanding among all groups, thereby creating a more harmonious environment. The Center is located in the Adair Building. Phone 785-4142.

Residence Life
Six residence halls and three apartment complexes are located within easy walking distance of all academic buildings. The Truman residential living program is firmly committed to enriching each student¹s life with experiences which integrate learning and living. Living in a residence hall allows students to participate in the mainstream of university social, recreational, and educational activities in order to encourage in each person self-direction and respect for others. SERVE Center
SERVE provides organization, direction and student services that facilitate the responsible citizenship of Truman students through community service. The Center promotes civic responsibility as an integral outcome of a liberal education. These opportunities allow students to reflect upon their experiences and consider societal needs as forces shaping future societies. The SERVE center is located in the main concourse of the Student Union. Phone 785-7222.

Services for Individuals With Disabilities
The Services for Individuals with Disabilities Office helps to address the needs of individuals with documented disabilities and provides guidance for adjustment to the University community. Truman shares the responsibility with you, the student, for modifying campus facilities, activities, and programs to meet your individual needs. A general list of services may include, but would not be limited to, recording of written material for individuals with visual impairments; providing note-takers; special arrangements for test taking; adaptive living arrangements; referral and assistance with adaptive technology; and other services individualized according to the needs of the individual. The University recognizes the unique needs of the individual and encourages inquiry for additional and/or specific information. Student Health Center
The Student Health Center, located in the McKinney Center, offers a variety of medical and nursing services to meet the needs of Truman students. Nurse practitioners in collaboration with a board-certified physician, registered nurses, a certified laboratory technician, and a medical secretary/receptionist staff the center. No office fee is charged to students, however, fees may be charged for laboratory tests, medications, allergy injections, treatments, and supplies. Students are seen by appointment and through posted "walk-in" hours. The Center is open Monday through Friday when classes are in session. Services include diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, reproductive health care, and nursing visits and consultations. Students whose health care needs cannot be met by the Student Health Center may be referred to the health care provider of their choice, community clinics, or the local emergency room. Fees accrued as a result of these referrals are the responsibilities of the student. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 785-4182. 

Student Union
As the community center of the campus for students, the University community, and guests, the Union provides a variety of programs, activities, services, and facilities. Services include: study lounge, Mainstreet Market snack bar, meeting rooms, Student Senate Office, Student Activities Board (SAB) Office and ticket outlet, Funds Allotment Council Office, Truman State University Bookstore, Take Five games room, Down Under programming facility, Tierra Del Sol Cantina, Diversity Village, Freshen’s Smoothie Shoppe, Jazzman’s Coffee Shop, automatic teller machine (ATM), stamp machine, Blue Key ride board, student organization mailboxes, lockers, newspaper vendors, copy machine, public phone access, and two big screen televisions. The Student Union also offers a variety of employment opportunities for students. Students interested in employment should contact individual offices for more information.

University Counseling Services
University Counseling Services (UCS) provides individual, group, and relationship counseling to all registered Truman students. In addition, the staff of UCS provides educational programming, consultation and referral services to the University community. UCS also sponsors a peer education program (S.T.E.P.), which provides programs on sexual assault, diversity, and related issues. UCS is located immediately west of E.C. Grim Hall. Women's Resource Center
The Women's Resource Center is a campus-wide resource originated and completely staffed by students. The mission of the Women's Resource Center is to provide programming, books, and other resources which will increase awareness about women's issues and promote healthy relations and understanding between men and women.
